On February 24, 2010 the city had a public discussion of the concept plan for the Sarasota Avenue Greenway Trail. A postcard announcement of the meeting was sent in advance to neighbors living within 500 feet of the project and notice was given through the IBSSA newsgroup of date, time, and place inviting neighborhood discussion and attendance. The greenway will be located in the unimproved Sarasota Avenue right-of-way, between 45th and 47th Streets. This neighborhood greenway will be ADA accessible. Features include a walking trail, benches, decorative lighting, fencing, landscaping, and proposed future tot lot and public art installations.
