Top Priorities for the City of Sarasota Administration
Posted on Feb 28, 2010

PRIORITIES AND OBJECTIVIES AVAILABLE ONLINE

Sarasota, FL: The top priorities for the City of Sarasota administration, along with corresponding measurable objectives, are now available for review on the City of Sarasota website. The City Commission recently established five priorities for fiscal years 2010-11 and 2011-2012: economic development and recovery; transportation and mobility; budget and finance; environmental sustainability; and quality of life. “We do not have a set order for these priorities,” said Mayor Richard Clapp. “They all are equally important and they’re all interconnected. The administration will work to carry them all out.”

For the first time, the City Commission established a set of measurable objectives to correspond with each priority. For example, a measurable objective for economic development and recovery is providing the City Commission with a staff analysis of different options for the successful development of the retail space component of the Palm Ave. mixed use project. Each priority has a variety of measurable objectives:

• Economic Development and Recovery – 21 objectives
• Transportation and Mobility – 10 objectives
• Budget and Finance – 9 objectives
• Environmental Sustainability – 13 objectives
• Quality of Life – 12 objectives

The priorities are spread over two fiscal years: 2010-11 and 2011-2012.
